Beneficiaries Register

The Poukura Pā Reservation Trust has set up a beneficiaries register to capture information about our people.

Why Register?

The purpose of registration is to collect contact and other information about the beneficiaries of the Poukura Pā Reservation Trust (Poukura Marae), to enable the Trust to:

  • Communicate with the beneficiaries about upcoming hui and wānanga, and to communicate pānui and business.

  • Maintain an accurate beneficiaries data base to enable voting, access to grants and subsidies, fishing licenses, and other amenities.

  • Build a whakapapa data base.

After Registering, You:

  • Will be part of the beneficiaries profile.

  • Can vote in elections (so long as you are 18 years or older and are of Ngāti Parekaawa decent) 

  • May be eligible to apply for grants and/or scholarships that you may be entitled to through the Tuwharetoa Settlement Trust, Tuwharetoa Māori Trust Board, and other affiliated trusts.

  • Can access documents on this website that are restricted to beneficiaries only.

  • Will be eligible to ballot for fishing licenses and boat ramp access permits.

  • Can receive the beneficiaries rate for marae hire.

  • Will be invited to attend wānanga, hui, and events hosted by the Trust.

  • May be eligible to be elected as a Trustee.

Eligibility:

To be eligible to register as a beneficiary of the Poukura Pā Reservation Trust, you must be of Ngāti Parekaawa decent.

Spouses of beneficiaries may also register, but may not necessarily be eligible to all of the entitlements listed above.

The Trust is not responsible for determining an individuals or whanau whakapapa to Ngāti Parekaawa. Any disputes concerning whakapapa should be made at hapu wānanga or hui a hapu.
